TEAM BIOS

Steve Pizzolato, Owner and President – Steve has 25 years of marketing experience, many of those spent working with leading companies in the marine and recreation industries. Prior to helping start AVALA, he was the vice president of database marketing for Maritz Inc., a $2 billion marketing service company in St. Louis, Missouri. Specializing in strategy development, marketing research and database marketing, he provides lead support to all clients. Steve holds a BA in Advertising and Marketing Research from Northern Illinois University.

Terry Domain, Vice President, Client Services – Terry was the first employee at AVALA in 1997 and was brought on as an Operations Manager. Terry worked as an Events Coordinator for Maritz Travel Company right out of college and later was the owner/operator of two different national franchises. In 1987, he rejoined Maritz as a Project Manager and moved on to Account Management and Sales. He is currently Vice President of Client Services with Project Managers reporting directly to him supporting marketing, data management, research, advertising, promotions, consumer/product research and lead management programs. Terry holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business with a concentration in Marketing from the University of Kansas.

Jim Webb, Vice President, Strategy – Jim brings more than 25 years of agency experience to the benefit of clients, primarily developing marketing strategies and supporting programs.  He is instrumental in designing research, database marketing and CRM strategies, and is intimately involved in the agency's interactive marketing programs.  Prior to joining AVALA in 2001, Jim led the consumer products group at a mid-sized advertising agency in Michigan, and he began his agency career at a prestigious public relations firm in Detroit.

Fred Harrell, Chief Financial Officer; Analytical Services – Before joining AVALA, Fred was President of Wetterau Foods (a $3 billion dollar food distributor) and in charge of their store site selections and real estate acquisitions. While at AVALA, he manages financial matters as well as overseeing analytic services.   Fred helped develop many of the deliverables AVALA offers today including, Lead Management and Campaign ROI reporting, Local Market Segmentations Studies and CSI reporting.  Fred has a MBA from the University of Missouri and is a CPA.

Brian Rappaport, Vice President, Operations – Brian has been with AVALA for nearly 10 years.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware.  Upon graduation from college, Brian worked within the sports and entertainment industry in various capacities.  Brian has either been involved with an inaugural opening or management training at four baseball stadiums and six NFL stadiums.   At one point his career, Brian supervised over 1200 employees.  Currently, Brian manages AVALA's internal operations as it relates to customer and product research, technology, and dealer channel marketing projects.  He oversees the overall work flow process for AVALA's client deliverables, and administers over 125 on-going CSI and research projects.

Jeff Coffman, Senior Account Executive – Jeff holds a BS in Journalism with a concentration in Advertising from the University of Missouri at Columbia. In addition, he holds an MBA with a concentration in Marketing from the University of Texas at Austin.  Upon completing graduate school, Jeff went to work as a marketing analyst in the AAdvantage customer loyalty department for American Airlines in Fort Worth, Texas.  He has spent the last five plus years working in various account management, strategic marketing and business development capacities at AVALA.

Rich Pizzolato, Account Executive – Rich has spent more than 20 years in senior marketing positions in both the public and private sector.  He has developed and executed marketing programs for McDonnell Douglas Healthcare Automation Company, Baxter Information Systems and SoftCo America. Programs with which he has worked include database marketing and sales reporting systems, customer value analysis, brand positioning research, lead generation strategy, customer loyalty programs and more. Rich has a BA degree in business administration from Governor State University.

Ken Rohman, Director of Interactive Strategies – Ken has 15 years of marketing experience, having worked for Brunswick, OMC, eBay and BassPro Shops. Ken evaluates print, radio and television campaigns to measure effectiveness of URLs, researches website traffic patterns and demographics to identify sales opportunities, and maximizes use of search engines. He also implements e-mail broadcasts, eCRM platforms and system-wide integration of all lead sources. Ken holds an MBA in finance from Tulane University and a BA in Marketing from Baylor University.

Bill Moran, Director of Analytics – Bill received his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Marketing from St. Louis University. He began work at Save-A-Lot food stores, in the Real Estate department analyzing market potential and site selection and later started their Marketing Analytics department.  Bill was also GMAC Insurance’s Senior Marketing Analyst, where he used his customer profiling experience to enhance the company’s campaign targeting to the most responsive and profitable consumers.  At AVALA, Bill supports several clients’ research and analysis needs and is integral in formulating project designs working extensively in such research areas as consumer lifestyle segmentation, geo-demographics, sales and market share trends, direct targeting and campaign effectiveness.

Brad Kovach, Senior Copy Writer – Brad has 15 years of experience as a writer/editor and account manager. He has written for Motor Boating, Caribbean Travel & Life and Cabin Life magazines, and has also supervised a project team working on catalog, websites, product videos and sales collateral for clients such as Regulator, Luhrs, Mainship and Hunter Marine. His responsibilities at AVALA include project management and copy writing for Sea Ray and other major clients.

Frank Steiner, Senior Creative Director – Frank has more than 25 years of graphic design and communications experience. He has won numerous awards from both the New York and the Los Angeles Society of Illustrators and has worked with a long list of premium clients such as Anheuser Busch, AT&T, Cadillac, Coca-Cola, McDonnell-Douglas, Monsanto, Nissan, Seagrams, Shell Oil Co. and United Airlines. Frank leads the AVALA creative team and is the senior creative/art director for Sea Ray, The Moorings and other major clients.
