Trendy Mexican bistro La Salsa was looking for a cost-effective way to drive new and existing customers into the restaurant, and to increase their average order prices.
Build a database of e-mail addresses collected on-site through registration to win a free lunch and to receive special offers.
The e-mail campaign consisted of a special offer that was sent at the beginning of each month to all registered consumers. Effective promotions included a coupon for “Friends Eat for 99¢” that could be forwarded to additional online recipients.
Average results for each special offer have been a 53.1% e-mail open rate, 39.5% click-through rate, 34.4% rate of coupon downloads and 8% rate of e-mails forwarded to friends.
