SQL Developer / Team Lead


The role:

As a sql developer, you will be working on our critical production applications and infrastructure.  Writing code in a high-paced and challenging environment with an emphasis on using best practices to develop high quality software that meets project requirements, budget, and schedule.  As the team lead you will be providing guidance and leadership to your peers within the group.  Working directly with project managers to expand user requirements and document feature requests.  Responsible for guiding technical efforts of the team and ensuring quality of code produced.

The responsibilities:

Writing server-side code for web-based applications

Building web-based interactive applications using client based script technologies

Designing, building, and testing software

Taking part in formal reviews of your own and other developer’s code

Working closely with the project manager to define requirements

Finding ways to solve difficult problems using initiative and creativity

Identifying ways to continually improve and refine processes

Contributing wherever necessary to help the team reach its goals

Participate in Agile development using SCRUM and KANBAN

Research new technologies and determine how to use them to improve the product

The qualifications:

1-2 years of relevant work experience

Extensive programming experience in SQL

Proficiency in relational databases and data schema design

Some knowledge of object-oriented skills and design pattern methodologies

Some exposure to client scripting technologies, web services, and use of AJAX

Thrive in a fast-paced environment with a high tolerance for change

The technical

Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and newer

T-SQL, Common Table Expressions, Table Variables, Functions

Microsoft .NET Framework (C# preferred)

ASP.NET MVC, jQuery, Spine.js, and other client scripting packages

Front-end development using responsive design patterns
